HOW TO TRADE WATER ONLINE
To trade online you must be a registered online user. Registration is free and provides access to the various online tools and resources which can help you manage your account and make calculated trading decisions.
Registered Users
Once approved, registered users can:
- Sell water - create a sell order for temporary or permanent transfer, or list your permanent water for sale
- Buy water - create a buy order for temporary or permanent transfer, or bid on a permanent water listing
- View detailed price information
- View regional and national water index reports
- Signup to email and SMS water alerts, to be notified when water matching your criteria becomes available.
- Signup to water industry news email service
- View irrigation region profiles and allocation information
Unregistered Online Visitors
As an unregistered online visitor wanting to buy or sell water, you can conduct water market searches across all regions in which Waterfind operates (from the Waterfind home page ). Doing so will locate all buy and sell water orders which are available to you to trade.

Buyers: How to buy temporary and permanent water online
- Register for a Waterfind account. Once approved you will receive confirmation via email.
- Login to your Waterfind account, click the 'Buy water' button and follow the prompts, you will then be taken to the water market.
- To buy water instantly - from the offers to sell listings (sell orders), choose an order which meets your price and volume requirements. Alternatively, if there are no suitable offers to sell listed you can place a buy order onto the water market for automatic fulfilment according to the price and volume parameters you set.
- Once you have bought water you will receive an automated email with the relevant transfer documents. The returned transfer documents and payment for water bought are required within 7 days (payment for permanent transfers is required within 14 days).
Sellers: How to sell temporary and permanent water online

- Login to your Waterfind account, click the 'Sell water' button and follow the prompts, you will then be taken to the water market.
- To sell water instantly - from the offers to buy listings (buy orders), choose an order which meets your price and volume requirements. Alternatively, if there are no suitable offers to buy listed, you can place a sell order onto the water market for automatic fulfilment according to the price and volume parameters you set.
- Once you have sold your water you will receive an automated email with the relevant transfer documents. The returned transfer documents are required within 7 days.

Full Service Brokerage
Our team of professional water brokers have the industry knowledge and water trade expertise to help you meet your irrigation requirements ? all you have to do is pick up the phone. Our brokers search the water market in order to buy or sell water on your behalf according to your particular requirements. With regular phone contact available to keep you informed every step of the way, our full service brokerage provides a minimal fuss trading option.
Full service brokerage does not require you to register online. Once signed up for full service brokerage you will however automatically be given an online account for your optional use (login details are sent via email).
Buyers:
- Contact your Waterfind broker.
- Your broker will discuss your water requirements, the current state of the water market and the options available to you.
- Your broker will then search the water market for parcels which suit your buying requirements. If there is an active order which suits your requirements, your broker will buy it instantly on your behalf. If there are no existing orders which suit your requirements, your broker will place a buy order onto the water market for you.
- Regular phone correspondence is available to keep you informed during the trade process.
- Once water has been purchased the relevant transfer documentation will be sent to you (via email, fax or post) for you to sign and return to Waterfind. The returned transfer documents and payment for water bought are required within 7 days (payment for permanent transfers is required within 14 days).
- Contact your Waterfind broker.
- Your broker will discuss your water sale requirements, the current state of the water market and the options available to you.
- Your broker will then search the water market for orders which suit your selling requirements. If there is an active order which suits your requirements, your broker will sell your water to the order instantly on your behalf. If there are no existing orders which suit your requirements, your broker will place a sell order on the water market for you.
- Regular phone correspondence is available to keep you informed during the trade process.
- Once water has been sold the relevant transfer documentation will be sent to you (via email, fax or post) for you to sign and return to Waterfind. The returned transfer documents are required within 7 days.
