Founded by CEO Tom Rooney, a former citrus grower and Business Manager in regional Australia, Waterfind has been developed to meet the needs of water users by enabling the efficient trade of temporary and permanent water, and providing high quality and timely water market information.
Waterfind facilitates water trade by having a detailed understanding of each of the water markets, and matches buyers and sellers, even if they are hundreds of kilometres apart. On behalf of our clients, we manage the process of completing all the necessary documentation and regulatory approvals to transact the trade, making the process as beneficial and hassle-free for you as possible.

Online Water Brokerage
Our online trading system has been designed so that it is simple and easy to use, giving you access to Australia's largest water market and allowing you to take control of your water trading activities. You can keep track of market prices, trading activity and water availability, and then buy or sell water accordingly.

Personal Telephone Brokerage
Waterfind's team of experienced water brokers have the industry knowledge and water trade expertise to help you meet your irrigation requirements - all you have to do is pick up the phone.
Our brokers search the national water market, making or accepting water offers on your behalf according to your particular requirements. With regular phone contact to keep you informed every step of the way, our phone brokerage provides a minimal fuss trading option.

WATERFIND CODE OF PRACTICE
In the absence of a regulatory body for the water trading industry, Waterfind self regulates by operating to the Waterfind Code of Practice, which outlines our commitment towards delivering responsible and credible water trading activities
The Waterfind code of Practice:
- All water transfer activities are conducted through an independently audited trust account
- Waterfind Precludes brokers from being involved with buying and reselling of water rights
- Procedures are in place to protect the rights and interests of clients and ensure the delivery of consistent and quality service with every water trade we execute
- All Waterfind brokers undergo ongoing training

Tom Rooney (view full bio)
Founder / Chief Executive Officer
Member of the Water Industry Alliance
Tom Rooney has been involved with the water brokerage industry since 1989. Tom’s trading knowledge was first gained through his family real estate business which was instrumental in commencing the trading of water allocations on behalf of Riverland growers in the mid to late 1980’s. Tom later went on to form TH Rooney Water Brokerage and was involved with the transfers of river and underground water licenses. As the water industry grew in complexity Waterfind Pty Ltd was created. Tom’s motto for Waterfind is to "make water trading easy". Tom is also Treasurer of the Waterfind Environment Fund - a not for profit association dedicated to improving the health of Australian River Systems.
Dr. Mark Siebentritt
Operations Manager
Mark is an ecologist by trade, and was appointed as the Operations Manager at Waterfind in November 2007. Prior to joining Waterfind, Mark was the Chief Executive of the Waterfind Environment Fund and has worked in a number of positions at the Murray-Darling Basin Commission between 2002 and 2006. Mark was the lead author in the United Nations sponsored Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, which from 2001 to 2005 assessed the consequences of ecosystem change for human well-being.
Stuart Peevor
Policy Manager
Stuart has a Bachelor of Environmental Management and is due to complete his MBA at the end of 2008. Stuart has worked in a range of positions within the water industry relevant to National water reform, policy development, regulation and pricing and environmental accounting.
Donna Carmody
Trade Manager
Donna is responsible for the processing of water trades. In doing so she is involved in regular liaison with our clients, water authorities and various government departments to instigate timely and reliable water transfers. Prior to joining Waterfind, Donna worked in retail at WC Penfold, before moving to SA to open and operate the Penfold Corporate Office.

Daniel Arevalo
Daniel has an extensive career in client service and IT sales. Daniel has qualifications in sales, Social Sciences and Accounting. His interests include reading, history, playing and watching sport.
Phillip Down
Through his experience as a dairy farmer in Meningie, South Australia, Phillip has a strong affinity with the farming community and the lifestyle it offers. Phillip has tertiary qualifications in business and farming technology. Phillip also has an interest in sustainable farming methods and is passionate about farming life.
Macgregor Greer
Mac comes to Waterfind with background and qualifications in IT, marketing and real estate. Mac is also a farmer and land owner on Australian East Coast. Mac's business background and deep understanding of the issues facing growers and irrigators today is being put to good work by helping his fast growing client base. Mac spends his Waterfind-free time with his family, sailing and cycling.
Alister Walsh
Alister has an extensive background in agribusiness, which began on his family property in Wentworth, South West NSW. Alister completed a Bachelor of International Agribusiness at the Univertsity of Adelaide, and is particularly interested in sustainable agriculture and holistic management practices.
David Webster
David is responsible for providing water brokerage and help desk support for Waterfind online clients. Prior to joining Waterfind David has worked within client management for financial services and was also involved in the development of a wool based online trading system in New Zealand.
